AN INVERKIP woman says she has been “overwhelmed” by the support shown for her dog care centre at an open day.

Moira McLellan, 44, runs Coastal Lodge in Inverkip and held the event to mark a successful first year in business.

Around 150 people and their pets showed up to find out more about the services on offer and enjoy an afternoon of fun.

Moira was delighted with the turnout, with people from the village plus Greenock, Gourock and Largs attending.

She said: “I thought it might be a good way to mark it, but I was overwhelmed by the support people showed.

“It was just great to see so many people come together and enjoy themselves.

"It was a huge success.

“People showed a lot of interest in the business and the organisations and businesses who had stalls, I couldn’t have asked for better.”

Moira extended her thanks to all the businesses who attended at the event and all the people who went along to show their support.

She said: “It really was a community event and an afternoon of fun and friendship.

“I would like to give a special thanks to Diane Etherson of Angel Blessings in Gourock because she was a huge support to me and helped set everything set up.

“I had never run an event like this and she was just amazing.”

Underheugh Ark Rescue also hosted a stall at the event selling home baking and making people aware of what they do.

They raised £122, which will go towards helping to rehome animals.
