A MAN has been arrested following an alleged attack on a teenage boy in Greenock last night.
The boy was rushed to hospital after an incident at 9.30pm in Wellyard Way.
The 16-year-old received treatment for a wound to his head.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff of Greenock CID is treating the incident as a serious assault and says a 49-year-old man is due to appear at court.
He said: “Police attended reports of a disturbance in the street.
“The 16-year-old was taken to hospital after sustaining a laceration to his forehead.
“No weapons were involved.
“He was released after treatment.
“A 49-year-old male was arrested and will appear at Greenock Sheriff Court.”
