A MAN was rushed to hospital in the early hours after an alleged serious assault in Port Glasgow.

It happened in West Barmoss Avenue.

A 54-year-old man was taken to Inverclyde Royal with an ear injury.

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff of Greenock CID says a 25-year-old man has been arrested.

He said: “Police received reports of a disturbance within a house in West Barmoss Avenue which escalated outside in the garden.

“A 54-year-old male sustained an injury to his ear and was taken to the IRH.

“A 25-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of serious assault.”
