ST ANDREW'S Primary parents are back in action after the holiday and have already held a successful fundraiser.

Once again the school community turned up in big numbers at the annual school fete.

Organisers, the school PTA were delighted with the response.

On the day there were loads of stalls, activities for the kids, a raffle and face painting.

Families could also sample some delicious cake and candy, hot dogs and enjoy a shot of tombola.

The Sea Cadets were also on hand at the fete with games of archery.

Chairwoman Lynsey Houston said: "We have a great team here and we are well supported by the school.

"We all had a great day at the fete."

The fundraising PTA raised nearly £1,000.

This sum will go towards supporting the school panto trip to the Beacon.

Throughout the year the association will be organising other activities, such as school discos and a movie night.

They also fund the school sports day at Ravenscraig.

St Andrew's PTA would like to thank all the local businesses and shops who showed their support for the fete.
