BEDS, fridges and soiled nappies have been illegally dumped along with a mountain of rubbish next to a popular Port Glasgow cycle track.
The disgusting find was made on the path next to Mackie and Devol avenues and also included a mattress, door wooden cabinets, household waste and a blue bin.
Bags of rubbish and furniture have been left strewn in woodland just off the cycle track and dumped into the stream below.
One resident says fly-tipping in the area is a regular occurrence but it is unusual to see household waste being dumped there.
Dog walker Caroline Baxter, who lives in nearby Broadstone Avenue, is sickened by the mess.
She said: "It's disgusting.
"Every time I come here there's something different.
"Every now and again you get someone dumping furniture but not rubbish like that.
"It looks like somebody has maybe missed their bin collection and dumped it there."
The mess also included lots of garden waste, a plastic chair, boxes, carpets and an ironing board.
The path is part of the National Cycle Network and is well-used by dog walkers.
A spokesman for Inverclyde Council said: "Fly-tipping and dumping rubbish in any shape or form is to be condemned as anti-social, irresponsible and illegal.
"We go to considerable lengths to identify those responsible in an effort to seek prosecution and to recover costs.
"Anyone with information on illegal dumping should get in touch with the council or if they witness rubbish being dumped they should contact the police."
