FAMILIES were in full voice for a hearty sing-a-long at St John's Nursery

Popular local singer Kenny Wilson from The Wherries worked his magic with a great set of nursery rhymes and songs.

The nursery invited grandparents along for the day to see the youngsters at play and afterwards they all joined together for the singing.

Gran Helen McGowan, who was with her four-year-old granddaughter Jorgie, said: "I had such a great day.

"I loved seeing what she gets up to.

"They do so much and learn so much.

"It is totally different now.

"It is such a lovely nursery."

She then joined Jorgie and her mum Cheryl and eight-month-old grandson Jude for the sponsored singing session.

Kenny led the way on the guitar and the kids were pitch perfect.

Kenny said: "I love doing this, the kids are great to work with.

"It is always great fun."

Senior early years learning development officer Donna Bui welcomed everyone to the family day.

She said: "We are so delighted to have everyone here.

"We wanted to open the nursery up to the grandparents and decided to have the sing-a-long to raise money for the nursery funds."
