SPORTY kids from a Greenock school are on the the ball after hitting the lottery jackpot.
Aileymill Primary has netted a £3,400 Awards for All grant which will see pupils kitted out for netball, football and athletics.
The grant allowed the school to buy new strips, tracksuits, shorts, vests, t-shirts, footballs, netballs, two netball stands and athletic equipment.
Nicole Robertson, Aileymill 's active schools co-ordinator said: "The equipment and strips have been purchased to improve extra curricular clubs with higher quality equipment.
"Netball, football and athletics clubs are being run all year round, are oversubscribed and are continuing to grow.
"Children take part in the sportshall athletics competitions every year, and the netball festivals, so the new kit makes them look more professional and feel like part of a team.
"They are really excited about wearing the new kit to festivals."
Nicole applied for the funding along with deputy head teacher Angela Ferrier.
Mrs Ferrier said: "We are delighted to have received the funding from Awards for All Scotland.
"It has enabled us to buy a whole range of new sports equipment and kits that our pupils can't wait to use.
"We would like to thank Nicole for compiling the bid and securing our funding.”
