A SPECIAL day of health and wellbeing activities replaced the normal timetable at St Columba's High School in Gourock recently.

Pupils, staff, parents and carers were all involved as head teacher Nicola Devine invited everyone to take care good care of themselves.

Mums and dads who attended got the opportunity to participate in a number of different workshops including ones on teenage behaviour, staying safe online and children's rights.

Pupils participated in a wide variety of workshops to raise awareness about their own mental, emotional, social, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

They looked at drug and alcohol awareness, exercise, gender inequality and got the chance to find out more about personal development programmes like the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

The pupils also had the chance to take part in sports activities such as football, basketball and hockey.

Head teacher Ms Devine thanked everyone for their participation in the events.

She said: “Our health and wellbeing events are a fantastic opportunity for all of our pupils, parents, carers and whole school community to experience a wide range of activities that impact on their physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our partners for their continued support and helping to ensure that our annual health and wellbeing events are such a great success.”
