CHARLIE Telfer says the man management skills of Morton boss Jonatan Johansson are second to none.

The midfielder has been impressed with the Finn since his arrival at Cappielow last month.

The former Charlton Athletic player is a relative novice in the managerial scene, having previously been an assistant coach and academy boss since beginning his coaching path back in 2012.

Telfer has praised the manager for his skill in communicating with his players.

He told the Tele: “He’s really approachable. Even when I wasn’t playing he would put his arm around me and told me what he was thinking, what his plans were and would tell me where he saw you playing.

“He does that with everyone and I think it’s really good man management.

“It’s really important as we have a young group.

“It’s important to keep everybody’s heads up and stick together, we’ve been doing a lot of video analysis as well to work on our game and to see potential weaknesses in others.”

The midfielder is aiming to be back in action against Falkirk today following a hip injury.

The 23-year-old spent some time on the sidelines with injury earlier this season, after having injections in his ankle.

He added: “I’ve been carrying a knock with my glutes, so I’ve been looking after that and felt it slightly and took a step back and rested it a bit.

“The ankle has been okay. I feel some pain in it now and again but by and large it’s been good.”
