PARENTS are no longer counting the cost of Halloween - thanks to a new costume bank at Lady Alice Primary.
Tesco have stepped in to donate items to the Greenock school, allowing little witches and devils to dress up.
It's one of many initiatives under way in the new look school to help bring it closer to the community.
As part of the recent £4m refurbishment a family room has been created and staff are working with the parent council and local community learning and development team to offer help.
Parent Michelle Sinnamon, 38, who has a daughter Krystie and son Kohen at Lady Alice said: "The Halloween costumes are a great idea. It costs families such a lot of money.
"The girls on the parent council here are brilliant and work really hard.
"They do an amazing job."
The parent council - run by Stephanie McAlpine, Samrana Sheraz and Eileen Boyle - are asking for £1 donations for the costumes which will be put back into the school funds to help run school discos and other activities.
Greenock mum Michelle is one of a number of parents who have started attending a drop-in at the school's new family room.
She said: "I think the new school looks amazing and the parent room is brilliant.
"I wouldn't normally come in to something like this but it helps make you feel a bigger part of the school and what goes on."
