THE community turned out in force to support St Ninian’s Church in Larkfield as it held its autumn fete.

The event was held recently for the third time and thanks to the generosity of those who attended around £1,300 was raised.

Proceeds collected will be put towards the upkeep of the church.

The hall was packed with people for the duration of the fete and they enjoyed browsing a variety of stalls.

One of the most popular stalls was set up by the youth church, who had made calendars.

Guests were able to sample some home baking while children took part in a number of action-packed activities and then enjoy a rest in the tea room.

Organisers were delighted with the turnout and the amount raised and have thanked the community.

Janette McCarroll, session clerk at St Ninian’s, said: “The place was packed from the minute we opened the doors and everyone really seemed to enjoy it.

“We not only had a great turnout from the congregation but also the local community and we can’t thank everyone enough.

“We were glad to welcome so many people.

“We couldn’t have been happier with the amount raised, that was amazing.”
