A LOCAL firm has doubled its workforce to almost 50 people with a move to Port Glasgow.

On-Site Scanning, which has been in business for 12 years, has taken its headcount to 47 with a move to Riverside Inverclyde’s Kelburn Business Park.

The firm digitises paper records for its clients and is forecasting annual sales of £1m this year.

It undertakes high-security high volume scanning of paper-based documents, predominantly for NHS boards and trusts throughout the UK, as well as private sector clients.

Barry Higgins, joint managing director of On-Site Scanning, said: “Our recent contract award for the digitisation of 28 GP surgeries in nine months is testament to our proven track record and excellent long-standing relationship with NHS trusts and boards across the UK."

The company had previously been based in Greenock's Terrace Road but its new HQ will enable it to grow.

Fellow joint MD Ross Campbell said: “Our existing client contracts require significant input from our highly-efficient colleagues and we value enormously their contribution to the company’s success.

"We are currently seeking further, new contracts which will help us sustain and, perhaps, increase the size of our workforce.

“We have worked closely with Riverside Inverclyde to secure this move and are very pleased with our new premises."

Fiona Maguire, the chief executive of RI says the urgan regeneration outfit is enjoying 'great success' in both attracting new companies to the area and assisting with the expansion of existing firms.

She added: "This plays a vital role in the overall regeneration and economic development of Inverclyde and we are delighted to welcome Ross, Barry and their team to Kelburn Business Park.

“On-Site Scanning’s presence further boosts the variety of sectors thriving at Kelburn and I am sure Inverclyde will continue to be an excellent base for them to grow."

On-Site join global life sciences engineering firm, Peak Scientific, access specialists Balmore Group, The New Chocolate Company, Start-Up Drinks Lab and Nutcrafter Creamery at the park.

Kelburn has one remaining 15k sq ft unit available and bosses at RI say they are currently in discussions with a number of interested businesses.
