A WEE 'Oor Wullie' from Greenock sitting on his bucket for Halloween is now a social media sensation.

Proud mum Kerry McGeown posted a picture of her little 'rascal' Connor Docherty and it soon had thousands of views on the popular 'Being Scottish' Facebook page.

The one-year-old was the star attraction at this year's Galoshans Festival in the town at the weekend - and now he is going global.

Mum Kerry, 30, from Blairmore Crescent, said: "Connor has the cutest blonde hair and his dad decided to dress him up as Oor Wullie.

"He just goes and sits on his bucket!

"Connor is a wee rascal - he is always up to no good, so it is perfect.

"When we went to the Galoshans at the weekend everyone loved his costume so I thought I'd post it on Being Scottish.

"When it went viral, I couldn't believe it.

"People are even sharing it in Canada.

"My dad works in England and he is showing everyone."

So far the picture of Connor dressed up as the iconic Scots comic character, made famous by a weekly newspaper strip alongside the Broons, has had more than 5,000 views and attracted hundreds of comments.

Little Connor, who will be two in January, enjoyed the Galoshans Festival at the Beacon with his family.

Dad Martyn Docherty, 33, a painter and decorator, was helping out at the event.

His partner Kerry, daughter Eilidh, seven, dressed up too.

Kerry added: "It is a such a great event, exactly the kind of thing this town needs.

"We all had a great time."
