Pupils in a Dumbarton school commemorated remembrance week with a series of events in and out of the classroom.
Throughout the week, children from each class in Christie Park Primary in Alexandria undertook lessons on war and peace, the significance of poppies, and acts of remembrance.
The whole school went to Christie Park’s cenotaph to lay individual poppy crosses and held a minute’s silence.
Primary 4 performed a class assembly on remembrance which was presented to the whole school on Thursday.
On Remembrance Sunday, senior pupils took part in the annual remembrance parade in Alexandria, and laid a wreath on the cenotaph in Christie Park.
On Monday, P6 pupils led a remembrance assembly in front of parents and invited guests.
Head teacher Laura Penny said. “It is a long-standing tradition in Christie Park Primary to commemorate remembrance and express our gratitude to those who lost their lives. It is especially poignant this year as it is 100 years since the end of the First World War.”
