GIRLS are going for goals at football sessions across Inverclyde.
Morton Community Trust has teamed up with Active Schools to offer five to 11-year-olds a chance to play the beautiful game.
They are running training camps right across the area, from Wemyss Bay to Kilmacolm.
At a recent celebration the youngsters taking part showcased their skills.
Laura Wiliamson, a Morton Girls football coach, said: "We want to give as many girls as possible a chance to play the game.
"We offer training sessions and we're looking at setting up even more.
"The girls also have the chance to progress into teams.
"It is just great to let them play."
Morton Girls has a full football structure right up to a senior team.
They work with Active Schools to encourage female participation in the sport.
At the end of one recent block they held a Festival of Football at Notre Dame High, with primary pupils from Wemyss Bay, Inverkip, Kilmacolm, St John's and Newark showing some fancy footwork.
There are also football sessions running in Wemyss Bay Community Centre every Friday from 4 to 5pm and then in Port Glasgow Shared Campus on Saturdays from 11am until noon.
Laura and her coaching team are now looking at setting up more sessions in Gibshill and Kilmacolm.
