CHILDREN at a Greenock school got it spot on as they held a party in the name of charity.

Lady Alice Primary decided they wanted to raise money for Children in Need and asked children and staff to wear something spotty, yellow or both in honour of mascot Pudsey - and make a donation in return.

Pupils previously decided which charities they wanted to fundraise for this year and, with the help of primary three teacher Ciara Sloan, organised the events.

Ciara said: “The children chose the charities they wanted and this was one of them.

"They were so excited and worked so hard to make sure everyone was involved.

“I was so impressed with some of the outfits, they were all just fantastic, the home-made ones are particularly impressive.

"We had everything from Pudsey ears to onesies.

“The children loved it and have put in so much effort, they had so much fun.”

Ciara added: “Although we don’t have a target I think we have done well.

"The class went round the school to see who wanted to guess Pudsey’s birthday and so many have had a go.

“The fundraising event helped the children to learn about the key value of empathy and how they can help make a difference to the lives of other children across the UK, I am proud of all their efforts.”
