POLICE have issued a public appeal to trace a Greenock man who went missing five days ago.
Jonathan O'Neill, 30, was last seen at midday last Sunday after telling relatives that he was going to Glasgow.
Extensive enquiries are being made by police to trace him.
Inspector Jeff Curran, leading the search, said: "It's very unusual for Jonathan to go off and not be in touch with anyone.
"His family is understandably concerned and just want to know he is safe and well.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Jonathan, or who has any information on his whereabouts, to contact us."
Mr O'Neill, who is described as 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build with short black hair, is believed to be wearing a a dark blue duffle coat.
Police are continuing to speak to his family and friends and are checking CCTV footage.
