STAFF at St Francis Primary have thanked everyone who made their school fete such a success.

The event, which saw families pack out the school hall at the weekend, raised in excess of £2,000 for funds.

Teachers and parents who were working on the stalls got into the festive spirit by donning their best Christmas jumpers and fancy dress.

Guests had the chance to browse stalls for some festive gift inspiration, tuck into some tasty home baking and try their luck at the raffle and bottle stall.

Staff say they are delighted with how it all went on the day.

Margaret Kelly, acting depute head, said: “We are delighted, the fete was a great success.

“The hall was busy throughout and the community really came together. There was a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to have a great time.

“We would like to thank all the parents, grandparents, carers and teachers for their help and support and also everyone who came along on the day to support the school, we couldn’t have done it without them.”
