AN investigation is underway after a fire was started deliberately in a block of flats in Port Glasgow.
The blaze was discovered in the ground floor of tenements in Wallace Street at around 7.42pm on Friday night.
Two crews from Greenock Fire Station, using breathing apparatus, were called to deal with the incident.
The property is said to be derelict and was unoccupied at the time.
Firefighters discovered two butane gas canisters at the scene after extinguishing the blaze.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately and officers from Greenock CID are now investigating.
