PINT-sized performers put audiences in the Christmas spirit with their heartwarming nativity.

The little angels at Whinhill Primary starred on stage, with the primary one pupils playing the lead roles while the P2 and P3 pupils were in the supporting choir.

James Rodgers, who is the primary one teacher, said he was very proud of all the pupils for their hard work and effort.

He said: "The boys and girls have really grown in confidence and practised really hard.

"They have really enjoyed learning about the nativity story.

"It's a big thing for the wee ones to do a nativity, especially after just two terms.

"They have made me very proud."

Mr Rodgers was keen to thank his colleagues Hannah Smith, a Gaelic teacher at the school and Christine Dougan, the P2/1 teacher, for all their help in co-ordinating the show.

The pupils performed in a dress rehearsal for their classmates before a separate performance for their parents last night.
