A CHARITY which helps people change their lives had 'Claus' to celebrate at a festive fete.

There were elves, Santa and even a sprinkling of magic at Jericho House's Christmas cracker.

Women who are in recovery from addiction arranged a special coffee morning at St John's Church hall in the Port for their families and children.

Stacy Ramsay, who has been through the programme at the unit in Shankland Road herself, is now a support worker with the organisation.

She said: "It was a really good day and an opportunity for the girls to spend some time with their families and friends.

"We had sweet and cake stalls, a tombola, Santa's Grotto and there was also some dancing.

"The girls worked hard to organise it all and put a lot of effort into making sure it was a success."

Donations are still coming in so it's not known what the final total was on the day.

The women also take part in drama as part of their recovery and are gearing up for their show Jericho Girls Do Christmas.

Stacy said: "It's been a bit stressful at times, just like any other show but I'm sure it will be great on the night."

The show runs in St John's Church hall on Friday December 21 and in Dumbarton's Denny Civic Theatre the night before.

Doors open at 6.30 and curtains go up at at 7.30pm.

Ticket cost £5 and are available on the night.
