BAD weather failed to dampen the spirits at a cracking Christmas fete.
Staff at Newark Care Home joined residents and their families for a fabulous festive fete.
Margaret McClure, activities co-ordinator at the home, has thanked everyone who came along to support the care home.
She said: "It was a wee bit quieter than usual due to the weather but it was still a very good day.
"We had Santa's grotto and lots of stalls including home baking, bric-a-brac and a bottle stall.
"The kids loved the facepainting and there was also tea and coffee and mince pies."
People also had the chance to win a Christmas hamper and plenty of other prizes were up for grabs while there was also a name the doll competition.
Margaret, who organised the event alongside colleagues Elaine McDadeand Moira Roberts, added: "I'd like to thank all the shops in Dubbs Road who gave us donations and everybody else who donated.
"We raised £375 which will be donated to the residents' fund and go towards bus trips and the panto."
