A SUPERB singer stepped in to save her school show by taking on THREE different roles.

The teachers at St Andrew's Primary faced a last minute panic when the cast for their heartwarming play 'Home for Christmas' kept falling sick.

But luckily chorus girl Niamh Dornan knew all the words off by heart, so she stepped in wherever she was needed for all three shows.

The senior classes at St Andrew's took on the issue of homelessness this Christmas.

Star pupil Niamh, 10, said: "The people playing the homeless parts were off and the girl playing the mum ended up off sick at the dress rehearsal so I stepped in for her as well.

"I have always loved singing and drama and I wasn't nervous at all.

"I was happy to get up there and do my best.

"I knew most of the lines and quickly learned the rest.

"I was just happy to help."

Niamh said: "We learned a lot more about what it is like to be homeless."

Primary seven teacher Colette Gisbey said: "Niamh is a star!

"I don't know what we would have done without her.

"She was playing all these different parts and knew all the words.

"We knew she could step in and do it.

The school's Home for Christmas show told the tale of two kids alarmed that there are people living on the streets.

They start talking to a homeless woman and talk their mum into opening up their home and hearts at Christmas.

Mrs Gisbey said: "It was a great play and the issue is very topical just now. It really made our pupils think."
