NEW jobs have been created in Inverclyde after a roofing company relocated to the district.

Zenit Contracts, which specialises in roofing and fit-out works, has moved from Paisley to Kelburn Business Park.

Since moving to the area, the business has taken on two roofers from Port Glasgow and hopes to create more jobs over the next 12 months.

The company, which employs six people in total, has leased the premises from Riverside Inverclyde for a period of five years.

Raymond Allan, who is the managing director of Zenit Contracts, said: "We have been delighted by the support we have received from RI with the move to Kelburn Business Park, which has helped to facilitate the next phase of growth for the business.

“When this highly-visible unit became available we were quick to move to secure the premise.

"As a result of the expansion, we have been able to expand our employee base and successfully pick up new contracts across the west coast of Scotland.”

Andrew Bowman, head of business investment at RI, says the arrival of another new company is great news for the local economy.

He said: "We are delighted to welcome Zenit Contracts to Inverclyde and Kelburn Business Park, adding to the rich variety of businesses which are now operating from Port Glasgow.

"Zenit joins a growing list of exciting businesses focused on success and growth in 2019 and beyond at Kelburn.

"We wish Raymond and his team a warm Inverclyde welcome and continued success."

Zenit is the latest in a line of new tenancies at Kelburn, following the likes of Peak Scientific, The Balmore Group, On-Site Scanning, Nutcrafter Creamery and The Start-Up Drinks Lab all moving in amongst others.

Kelburn Business Park has only one remaining unit available, and bosses from RI are currently in discussions with interested parties.
