A TAXI driver was robbed at knifepoint in Greenock in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened at 4.20am in Earnhill Road.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff of Greenock CID says the driver had picked up two males before they pulled out a blade on him and demanded cash.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of the robbery while enquiries are ongoing with regards to the second suspect.
DI Wagstaff said: “A 51-year-old male taxi driver picked up a fare — two males.
“They have presented a knife and robbed him of a two figure sum of money.
“We have arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion and enquiries are ongoing. The taxi driver was shaken up but uninjured.”
