A YOUNG Greenock mum has been praised in parliament for organising a Christmas dinner for lonely people.

Stuart McMillan, the Inverclyde SNP MSP, lodged a parliamentary motion to congratulate Taylor Barnes for her extraordinary efforts.

The inspirational 21-year-old mum organised the special dinner for 70 people at Gibshill Community Centre.

She was joined by a team of hard working volunteers — including TV star Hardeep Singh Kohli, who was head chef on the day.

This is the second year Taylor has organised the dinner with plans in the pipeline for another dinner this Christmas.
