YOU'RE never too old to learn was the theme at Lyle Kirk's latest messy church gathering.

Around 30 children and their parents flocked to the latest weekend fun session in the Union Street building.

Some youngsters took to the stage to perform action songs.

Church youth leader Pam Stewart said: "We looked at the story in the bible when Jesus was 12 when he was in the temple and asked questions.

"We do action songs and use quite a lot of 'Fishy Music' - a not-for-profit Christian Music Ministry.

"We had about 30 kids along with parents last week which is great.

"It's not just for kids, it's family orientated.

"It's an opportunity for parents to spend time with their kids in a relaxed atmosphere.

"That's what Messy Church is all about and at the end we have lunch together."

Pam says the get-togethers have proved so successful because they are informal.

She said: "I think parents and children feel so relaxed here.

"It's different from a Sunday morning service.

"It's all about learning about fellowship and the love of God in a relaxed atmosphere."
