BABIES were bouncing around to the beat at a special musical cafe event at the Beacon.

It was all smiles, fun and games at the first Hartbeeps Baby Rock Café.

Hartbeeps is a local class for babies from birth to age five - led by Abby Allen - which takes children on a journey of imagination, music and multi-sensory play.

The first classes started this year and Abby used the first Baby Rock Café, a 90 minute stay-and-play session, as a launch party, complete with balloons and cake.

Around 30 children and their parents and siblings attended the launch.

The children explored lots of different play zones including a teddy bear picnic, dinosaur dig, cooking station, duck pond, sensory tent, and garden which featured tunnels, rabbits, wheelbarrows and flowers.

Parents meanwhile enjoyed tea and coffee and there was juice, sandwiches and biscuits for all to tuck into.

The session ended with some dancing and a parachute game.

Abby said: “It was amazing and we had the most incredible fun.

“I loved watching the children come in and their wee faces lighting up when they saw everything.

“There were lots of smiley faces during the event which is always a good sign, in fact a few little ones didn't want to leave."

The next Baby Rock Café will be held this month.
