A GREENOCK teenager has been charged with brandishing a golf club in the street and challenging police to fight.
Craig Osborne, 18, is said to have repeatedly struck a bus stop with the club after illegally drinking fortified alcoholic energy drink Dragon Soop on Inverkip Road.
Prosecutors say he repeatedly struggled with four police officers while co-accused David Woods, 20, repeatedly shouted and and swore and approached the police menacingly and with a clenched fist.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place on November 28 last year.
Osborne, of Broadford Terrace, and Woods, of Dornoch Grove, have pleaded not guilty through lawyers Gerry Keenan and Aidan Gallagher at Greenock Sheriff Court.
A trial is due to take place on February 28.
