A MAN was rushed to hospital after being slashed on the face at a flat in Greenock.
The 23-year-old victim was set upon by another man sometime between 10am and 11.45am yesterday morning.
Police are today said to be following a positive line of inquiry in relation to the incident at Bow Road.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff, of Greenock CID, said: "Both males are known to each other and were in each other's company just prior to the assault.
"The assailant is described as being in his 20s and this was a targeted attack.
"The injured man had sutures inserted into his wound at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
"Anyone with further information should call us on the 101 number."
