FIRE ripped through a tenement building in Port Glasgow last night.
The derelict property went up in flames at around 8.30pm.
Four fire crews attended the blaze at Clune Park's Maxwell Street.
Firefighters carried out what is called 'aggressive cutting away' of partition walls to guard against any burning embers that could reignite the building.
They also used thermal imaging cameras to seek out any hotspots.
Crews were still at the property this morning as a precaution.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is expected to be carried out.
