A BOY aged 14 has been charged with carrying out a Greenock knife attack which left a 16-year-old in hospital.
Detectives this morning confirmed that following their inquiries, a schoolboy is accused of serious assault to severe injury and possession of a knife following an incident on Thursday.
The Tele had reported how a 16-year-old, believed to be a pupil at Inverclyde Academy, was injured after being attacked in Cumberland Road.
He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal for treatment and later allowed home. Constable Sharon Crawford says the 14-year-old who has been questioned will appear in connection with the serious assault at the sheriff court at a later date.
