RAINBOW Family Centre rose to the challenge with some super show-stoppers in a charity bake off competition.

Parents, staff and children had some mouthwatering recipes ready to go as they let their creative talents run riot in the kitchen.

The charity event was organised to raise vital funds for the Inverclyde Foodbank.

With a seriously delicious spread to choose from it was proud mum Danielle Boag who was crowned this year's winner.

Her signature strawberry cheesecake came out on top with judges and everyone in the staff room.

Depute head Sonia McKay said: "It was a great day and brought out the competitive side in everyone taking part.

"We invited our friend Patricia McKay from Glenpark Nursery to judge it.

"One of our mums Danielle won and she was so proud.

"Danielle has recently taken part in our family cooking classes, run by our family support worker Catherine McIntyre.

"She also made crispy cakes with her three-year-old Roary.

"She wasn't even going to enter but changed her mind at the last minute.

"It was a great day, for a great cause - we work really closely with the Inverclyde Foodbank.

"Everyone donated money to have a coffee and some cakes afterwards."

By the end of the day there were no crumbs left on the table as everyone enjoyed the spoils of their success and raised a total of £150 for the Inverclyde Foodbank.
