YOUNGSTERS had a ton of fun at a Greenock church while learning about the bible story of Gideon.

Children enjoyed crafts, games and songs at the latest Messy Church session at Westburn.

Morag McCracken, youth leader at the church, said it was a well attended.

She said: "For this month's theme we looked at the Gideon Temptation story and how faith in God can change people.

"We had a blindfold obstacle course to test whether they had trust in the partner leading them round.

"They also made biscuits."

In the bible story Gideon asked God to show him who he was, and Morag's session used crafts to illustrate the tale.

The team used circles that changed colour to illustrate how God changed Gideon to have confidence in himself.

Morag said: "The message is to have faith in God, be confident in yourself and your beliefs."

The day ended with a meal of sausage rolls and soup made by church member Patricia Roberts.

The next messy church at Westburn will take place on Saturday April 13.

It will have an Easter theme and will run between 4 and 6pm.

All are welcome.
