MORTON’S crucial clash against Alloa today has been called off.
Cappielow failed a midday pitch inspection following the overnight snowfall which left it waterlogged.
Inverclyde awoke to wintry conditions as the snow which had been forecast fell and covered parts of the area.
A referee was called in to examine the pitch and despite delaying his check to see if conditions improved, he decided the soaking surface was unplayable.
The club posted this picture of the park on Twitter.
Ton had been looking to collect three points to steer clear of the foot of the table.
An announcement is to be made on a rescheduled date for the fixture.
