STRIKING school pupils walked out of classes in a protest against climate change.
The group of children from Skelmorlie Primary formed a picket line outside their school gates on Friday as part of a worldwide day of action against climate change.
Pupils waved handmade placards and signs to highlight their desire for change.
Rachel McLean, whose seven-year-old daughter Mairi was out on strike, says the children are determined to make a difference.
She said: "The group went on strike for an hour outside their school gates to highlight a lack of action on climate change.
"Several of the children had attended the school strike in February in George Square in Glasgow but decided to strike outside their school to help raise awareness amongst their peers.
"I think it's great that they want to take action."
Demonstrations also took place in Glasgow’s George Square and outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh while there were also gatherings in Aberdeen, Stirling and Inverness.
It follows last month’s global youth strike, which saw young people across the world follow the lead of Nobel prize-nominated Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg in skipping school to demonstrate.
Rachel added: "We hope that this will help.
"They would really love for other children to take action too in the coming months."
