LOCAL football legend Larry Barilli now has TV cameras following his side as he continues to shout from the sidelines.

The country's longest serving manager is to feature in a programme for the new BBC Scotland channel.

A camera crew turned up to film all the action when his new team Chaplins played in their latest amateur clash.

Luckily for Larry the players turned on the style and landed a big win.

The 83-year-old is still all set to start all over again next season and refuses to retire any time soon.

Larry, who has been a manager for the last 65 years, said: "I honestly thought we were going to get beat as Bellaire have been on a run.

"Only 11 players turned up for us but they were terrific.

"They were all heroes, and we won 8-2.

"I gave a bit of a speech before it.

"I told them to go out, give it their best and warned them not to give the referee any hassle and best of luck."

With the chance of making a semi-final and a couple more league games still to play, Larry remains in love with the beautiful game.

Amateur football legend Larry has only missed six games in the last seven decades and still washes all the strips after the games.

The Tele recently reported on his record stint in the managerial game.

Larry subsequently caught the attention of the BBC and they sent camera crews down to catch him in action.

Part-time taxi driver Larry, who lives in Cumberland Road, said: "I got a phone call out of the blue.

"They came down and the players turned it on for the camera."

Over his football career Larry has played in 35 cup finals and won 23 of them.

He has 11 league titles under his belt.

Father of six Larry has set up and run a whole host of teams through the years, including Drummonds, Gillespie's Butchers, Douglas Gray Motors and Bayhome FC.
