YOUNGSTERS enjoyed some eggs-citing fun at a free Easter craft day at Craigend Resource Centre.

The event was organised by housing association River Clyde Homes and the team from Belville Community Garden.

Artistic kids took part in a drawing competition, got a chance to decorate an Easter tree and joined in on an egg hunt.

Laura Reilly, manager of Belville Community Garden, said: "It was a fantastic turnout with just under 50 people coming along.

"It was an event to celebrate the Easter holidays.

"It's sometimes hard for families to find something to do during the holidays.

"We made soft dough shapes and baked them and the children decorated their Easter trees and took them home with them.

"We also provided a nice lunch for everyone.

The day was funded by a Cash for Kids grant.

Angela Docherty, community support officer, with RCH, who successfully applied for the grant, said: "It's been very busy and some parents have come along with their children.

"It's partnership working and it is also a chance to raise the profile of River Clyde Homes in the area and give something back to the community."
