LITERACY and numeracy skills were served up a cracking Easter lunch club in Port Glasgow.

About 500 children and parents from across the local community gathered at Rainbow Family Centre for the eggs-travaganza over the school holidays.

Ann Marie Boyd, who is the head of centre, said it was a great success.

She told the Tele: "It was fabulous.

"It was very well attended and we ran it over four sessions with 132 adults and 368 children attending.

"The club is all about raising attainment in literacy and numeracy and they also get lunch too.

"They also do lots of arts and crafts.

"It's great as they also get to spend time with their parents."

The sessions included children of all ages from babies right up to those aged 12 and over.

Ann Marie said they are so grateful for the support they have received from the local community.

She said: "We would like to say thanks to the community for supporting the lunch club."
