THE start of spring was marked with a week of special activities at Larkfield View Care Home.

Every year staff organise craft competitions, an egg hunt and arrange for residents and their families to roll eggs down the hill.

This year was no different with a week of events leading up to it.

Staff and residents started the week creating their Easter bonnets which were judged by manager Elsie Maclennan.

The entries were so impressive that eight prizes were given out in total.

Residents then enjoyed some tasty home baking and an egg hunt before being joined by family members and the Easter bunny to paint eggs and roll them down the hill.

Elsie said: “We really enjoy celebrating Easter at Larkfield view, everyone gets involved with staff helping residents to get everything ready and complete their bonnets.

“It was to difficult to pick a winner, all the bonnets were great, so eight trophies and Easter eggs were given out.

“The activities build up to the Easter egg hunt and the egg rolling on the Sunday.

“The weather was amazing and added to all the fun.

"Relatives, staff and residents all took part.

"Everyone joining in together is great and it really makes for a special day.

“We really appreciate the families coming and celebrating with us, it really does add to the occasion.

“It was a successful week of events and we are all delighted - roll on next year.”
