A WOMAN is set to stand trial before a sheriff and jury charged with carrying out a serious assault at Lady Alice Bowling Club.
Amanda Benson, 37, is accused of striking another female on the head with a glass to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Prosecutors say that she also pulled the woman by her hair to the ground and shouted and swore at her on May 26 last year.
Benson, of Langhouse Road in Inverkip, has pleaded not guilty to the charges through lawyer Michael Poggi.
The case is due to be heard at Greenock Sheriff Court on June 3.
