COMMUNITY spirit has helped to raise money for a lifeline Greenock charity.

Generous local folk dug deep in their pockets at Mind Mosaic's family fete, which was held at the Crawfurdsburn Community Centre in Greenock.

Thanks to their kindness, the event raised the sum of over £1,500.

This money will support the charity in providing counselling and therapy services for both children and adults.

The charity said: "A heartfelt massive thank-you to all who came to our fete at Crawfurdsburn.

"Our staff, their children and families and volunteers and supporters turned out with the community to help make it such a success.

"In just three hours we raised a fantastic £1,502.

"It was a wonderful effort by all - the smiles were abundant and it was great to see children, parents and grandparents spend time together joining in with all the activities that made the day so special."

The charity is keen to thank everyone who supported the event, including the local businesses who donated raffle prizes such as Serenity Bay Therapies, Fusion restaurant in Gourock, Waterfront Leisure, Luigi's, Tesco Greenock, Cardwell Garden Centre, Finlaystone Estate and Amazon Gourock.

Thanks also go to all the supporters who donated raffle and tombola prizes and to those who helped in all the planning and preparation of the fete.
