POPULAR radio broadcaster Gina McKie is hosting Ardgowan Hospice's 15th annual Ladies Day at Inverkip Marina next month.

The bash includes a sparkling reception two-course lunch, entertainment from tribute act Could it Be Take That, a live auction, raffle and tombola.

Gina, a DJ with Clyde 2, says she can't wait to help Ardgowan once again.

She told the Tele: "I've done a couple of events for the hospice.

"It's a nice day and it's nice to get local support for the hospice's work.

"The last time I felt quite emotional.

"These nurses and doctors provide palliative care 24/7.

"The hospice is doing an excellent job - they're angels.

"From a local perspective, it's a ladies day but with a reason behind it.

"Many people will know someone who has been cared for at the hospice."

Fundraiser Alex Mula says a huge marquee has been put up to host the event.

It will accommodate the 300-plus ladies who have already snapped up tickets for the celebration on June 9.

Only a few tables are unsold and still available to buy at £450 each.

Auction lots up for grabs include VIP tickets to see comedian Jack Whitehall at the Hydro in Glasgow in November, donated by McTears Auctioneers, two oil paintings created by hospice supporter Sir John Damari, a Radley handbag, kindly donated by Fiona Houlihan, an Amazon Echo, donated by the company, and a meal for two with restaurant critic Anna Burnside.

Guests will also have the chance to browse the stalls in the wee market on the way into the marquee.

Doors open at 12.30pm for lunch at 1.45pm and carriages are at 5.30pm.

Anyone who has donations for the raffle or tombola should contact fundraising@ardhosp.co.uk or call Alex on 558888.

To snap up one of the remaining tables call the hospice on 726830
