A TON of fun was had as people flocked to the Salvation Army’s first event of the year in Port Glasgow.

Familiar and new faces turned out for a fun day which included a bouncy castle, painting, colouring activities and the chance to make some tasty Rocky Road cakes.

The event was an opportunity to open the doors and get to know the people in the community.

Officer Hattie Arthur said: “Hosting the fun day gave us a chance to organise something for the community to come along to and enjoy.

“Lots of people attended, some we had met before and some new people.

"Everyone seemed to have a nice time.

“There was a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to get along well and they were chatting away.

“We would always like to see more people attend but it was a great day.”

The next event for the Port Glasgow Salvation Army is expected to be in the summer.

Hattie said: “We normally host events about four times a year.

"This was the first of 2019 and the next will most likely be in the summer.

“We always plan ahead a few months in advance to ensure we have everything booked and volunteers in place and we are looking forward to the next event.”
