STRICTLY Come Dancing star Danny John-Jules is taking on the role of legendary crooner Sammy Davis Jr for an all singing and dancing show in Greenock.

The actor, best known as 'Cat' in cult TV series Red Dwarf, will go back to his musical theatre roots in a performance about the life and career of the iconic Rat Pack singer and all-round entertainer at the Beacon in November.

John-Jules, who was in last year's series of Strictly and also featured in BBC crime drama Death In Paradise, will sing some of Sammy Davis Jr's best-known songs accompanied by some of his slick dance routines whilst telling the story of the world-famous showbiz star.

The show, entitled 'I've Gotta Be Me', will be on at the Beacon on Wednesday November 20 at 7.30pm.
