A FANTASTIC celebration of life on the farm and the great outdoors drew in the crowds at Largs Agricultural Society's annual show.

It proved to be a terrific day out for all the family, with loads of activities arranged at the venue near Inverkip.

The evergreen Largs Farmers Show is one of the oldest traditional events in the area.

It dates back over 150 years, and proudly continues to this day at Ardgowan Estate, courtesy of Sir Ludovic Shaw Stewart.

As well as cows, sheep, horses, highland ponies and dogs on display, there were classic tractors on show and much more.

As usual there was loads of children’s entertainment, a bouncy castle and races.

There was a serious side to it too with the show jumping competition taking place.

There was also judging for the blackface sheep, cattle and horses, and the Champion of Champions contest, overseen this year by Amanda Buchanan.

Aside from the competition, there were lots of stalls selling the likes of gifts and cake and candy and a hamper raffle.

Everyone went home with a spring in their step after an afternoon in the fresh country air.
