IT'S all above board at Port Glasgow High as pupils prepare for a stage adaptation of hit film Legally Blonde.

A 50-strong team of students are putting the finishing touches to their annual school show ahead of the curtain-raiser tomorrow at 7pm.

There will be two further performances on Thursday and Friday evenings.

The cast features around 30 pupils - and a dog - with a further 20 youngsters involved behind the scenes.

Drama teacher Tina Harper is in the director's chair, Julie Ballantyne from the music department is in charge of the soundtrack and choreography mastermind is S4 pupil Cerys Innes.

Miss Harper said: "We have about 50 pupils in total involved if you include everyone backstage. "They're all fab. "We also had a dog in last week for rehearsals and, without jinxing it, everything has been going great."

The show is based on the successful film starring American actress Reese Witherspoon, whose character goes to law school and discovers there is more to her than just her looks.

Miss Harper said: "I'm really happy with how things are going.

"The costumes are sorted and looking brilliant, Julie with the music and the kids are amazing as always. "This year, one of our pupils - Cerys - has choreographed the whole show and she's only in S4. "She's done a fantastic job. "Usually our pupils take more of an ownership with the dancing, probably because I have two left feet, and they take the opportunity and run with it.

"To choreograph the full show is fantastic and having her help and assistance has been great."

Tickets will be available on the door or to book in advance call the school office on 715200.
