HUNDREDS of people turned out to support Aileymill Primary's annual summer fete.

It was organised by the school's parent partnership who lined up lots of attractions.

The sun shone and the busy event featured a barbecue, home baking stalls, a bouncy castle, tombola, mascots, tea and coffee bar and a car boot sale.

It was was enjoyed by all ages as families packed into the school to enjoy musical entertainment from the Clydeside Singers and perform in a mini talent show.

More than 200 burgers were served on the day and stall holders were delighted with how well the event went.

Fortnite and LOL characters were kept busy posing for photographs with fans and the local police and fire crews stopped in for a visit.

The event raised around £600 which will be put back into the school to help with the costs of leaver jumpers and school trips.

Aileymill Primary parent partnership chairman Frank Smith said: “We always have a great turnout for the summer fete and this year was no different, people always look forward to it.

“We always seem to be lucky with the weather and we were again this year so everyone really seemed to enjoy it.

“We are delighted with the amount raised and how everything went on the day.

“Thank you to everyone who supported the summer fete and ensured it ran smoothly.”
