TWO men are in hospital this morning with facial lacerations after they were seriously assaulted within a flat in Gourock in the early hours.
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attacking the 41-year-old and 42-year-old at the property on the town's St John's Road.
Police were called to a disturbance at 1.55am.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff, of Greenock CID, said: "Early indications are that three males were involved in assaulting two males.
"We don't know at this stage if any weapons were involved.
"The injured men were taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where they currently remain.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and we would appeal for anyone who knows something about this incident to contact us."
