TESCO’S finest are putting on their dancing shoes for their biggest charity fundraiser to date.

Staff at the Port Glasgow and Greenock stores have been practicing routines to entertain shoppers this week.

The stores are hosting a fundraising event which began yesterday and runs until tomorrow in aid of charity partners the British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research UK.

Local groups and organisations are giving up their time to support it by performing for customers in store.

The local Tesco Community Champions have taken charge of organising the events across three days.

Lynn Emerson, from Port Tesco, said: “This is the biggest fundraiser we have done and we want to get as many people involved as we can.

“We will have performances from the Clydeside Singers, Kelly from Pound Fit, the Lauren Hair dancers, and DJ Paul Dylan.

“We are all looking forward to a fun community event.”

The Clydeside Singers and the Lauren Hair dancers will also perform at the Greenock store.

Community champion Lorella Sutherland added: “We will also have performances by DM Diamondz, the Maureen Onesti dancers, members from Venus Gym and line dancers.

“Customers are welcome to come and take part, it's just a wee bit of fun for charity.”

Both stores will have a face painter tomorrow, plus competitions with the chance to win prizes.

Customers will also be able to join in with dancing the Conga and Time Warp amongst others.

Lynn said: “We are hoping it really will be a whole store event and that some of the customers will get involved too."

Lorella added: “The people of Inverclyde are always so generous when we have fundraisers and always exceed our expectations, we are looking forward to seeing how much is raised.”
